On this day, the hymn ‘Vexilla Regis’, sung in Passiontide, is sung again. There is this magnificent verse: ‘O Tree of beauty! Tree of light! O Tree with royal purple dight! Elect on whose triumphal breast / Those holy Limbs should find their rest’.

May the joy of the Tree of beauty and light fill our hearts this day, the joy of the One who, for the ‘joy that was set before Him, endured the Cross, despising its shame, and is seated at the right hand of God’. May God bless you.
