Here is part of today’s Gospel reading: ‘What woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbours, saying, “Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost”. Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents’.

In Christ, we know ourselves as truly ‘found’. He is it who knows exactly where it is that we have gone astray and where to find us. All we need to do is to ‘turn’ – the true meaning of repentance, in Greek ‘metanoia’. It is a lifelong process and we can easily become discouraged, but Love overcomes all, and there is joy in heaven when we do turn.

May you find joy in your walk with God this day, and may He bless you.
