In our Mass readings, we are continuing with the Last Discourses in the Gospel of John. In today’s extract, we read this question of our Lord to His disciples: ‘Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me?’
St John Chrysostom comments on these words in a homily, using the Voice of the Lord: ‘You have seen the Father; seek not to see more; for in Him you have seen Me. If you have seen Me, be not over-curious; for you have also in Me known Him’. As He has said earlier, ‘I and the Father are one’.
May we know the love of the Father and the Son in our own lives, overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, and may God bless you this day.
