Following on from yesterday’s Old Testament reading, the account of Moses at the Burning bush, we have the incomparable story of the revelation of the Divine Name to Moses: ‘God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am.”’ In the hymn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus a short while ago we sang: ‘As Moses in the Bush aflame, first learned the mystery of God’s Name, we, in the furnace of Thy Heart, behold, O Jesus, what Thou art’. The Name of God, the Divine Mystery, and the Mystery of the Sacred Heart are linked together, for the nature of God is Love.

In our prayer and in our daily life may we constantly probe this mystery of the loving Being of God, and may our understanding constantly be deepened, bearing fruit in our lives. May God bless you.
