There is an old feast of the Holy Name of Jesus on this day. Here are a few lines from St Bernard’s hymn ‘Jesu dulcis memoria’, traditional for this day, in the translation of Fr Edward Caswall, Cong. Orat:

‘Jesus, the very thought of Thee / With sweetness fills the breast! / Yet sweeter far Thy face to see / And in Thy Presence rest. / No voice can sing, no heart can frame, / Nor can the memory find, / A sweeter sound than Jesus’ Name, / The Saviour of mankind’.

May the Holy Name of Jesus be your strength and your hope, and may His Love fill your day. May He bless you in all that you undertake.
