‘Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people; but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”’.

This is part of today’s Gospel reading, and it applies not only to actual children but to all those who are ‘little’ and poor of heart. God does not ask extraordinary heroic deeds of us most of the time, but He does ask of us little things done with great love. This is the raw material of sanctity!

May we learn this way, and follow it throughout our lives, and may God bless us in it.
