Some words from our New Testament reading today: ‘For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire, and darkness, and gloom, and a tempest, … But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant …’

As we come to Mass today, we are coming to a Person, to Jesus our Beloved Lord. He it is who has brought us safely back to the Father by means of the new Covenant in His Blood.

May we come humbly, in gratitude and in hope, and may He bless us all this day.
