The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham was established in the eleventh century, as a result of the apparition of Our Lady to Richeldis de Faverches. Our Lady had led her in spirit to Nazareth, and asked her to build a replica of the house where the Annunciation had occurred. The Shrine was duly built, but destroyed at the time of the Reformation. It was restored in the nineteenth century, and pilgrimages take place even up till our own day. Many thousands visit the Shrine each year and many blessings and graces are reported.

May Our Lady of Walsingham pray for our country, that the Faith may be restored, and that there may be peace, especially for our young people. May God bless you this day.
