The image of Our Lady shown below is known as ‘Advocata Nostra’, our Advocate, and is the oldest image of her in Rome. We’ve chosen this image to celebrate the seventh anniversary of our reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church, in the Oxford Oratory, on 1 January 2013, and the sixth anniversary of our erection as an Institute of Consecrated Life, on 1 January 2014.

Much has happened since then, but we know that we are in our true ecclesial home, under the sheltering mantle of the Mother of God.

May she guide all our steps in this New Year, and may we indeed know her as ‘Advocate’, the one we call to our side when things get rough (and they do), to plead our cause before her Son.

May He bless us, and may your New Year be filled with blessings.
