From today’s Gospel reading: ‘Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”’.  What is this word, ‘continue’? the Greek word means ‘to abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, or remain’. It can mean all of these things, and the word is one that St John often uses in his Gospel. It can describe our whole relationship with the Lord, in prayer as well as for the whole of life.

May we learn the meaning, from the inside as it were, of this word, and live in and from it, finding our true freedom, even in these times of severe restriction. May God bless you.
