St Matthew’s resurrection account, part of which is read today, focuses on the women who have come to the tomb. The angel meets them and explains what has happened, and what they should do next: ‘They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Hail!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshipped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”’
The Lord, the Risen Lord, meets us where we are, even in these straitened circumstances. He tells us not to be afraid. He is with us. May God bless you.
