Today’s Gospel reading is the story of Emmaus, and the image shows the disciples inviting the ‘stranger’, soon to be revealed as Jesus, into their home, where He will be known ‘in the breaking of bread’.
‘Abide with us, O Lord, for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent’. In a time when thick darkness has fallen upon the peoples of the earth, let us too invite the Lord into that darkness, that He may bring light there, and comfort, and hope.
May God bless you in your own pilgrimage.
