From St John’s Gospel: ‘Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord’.
In all the circumstances of our lives, especially those that are difficult, if we listen well, the refrain is there: ‘It is the Lord’. Not that He causes the events that may shatter us, but that He is there, hidden, full of care and compassion, His Hand outstretched to heal and to help, to invite and to embrace.
May you know that closeness in your own life, and may God bless you this day.
