‘Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes …’
When we pray, we do not do so alone; we are with the whole of creation. Here are the opening verses of the ancient hymn, the Te Deum: ‘You are God: we praise you; You are God: we acclaim you; You are the eternal Father: All creation worships you. To you all angels, all the powers of heaven, Cherubim and Seraphim, sing in endless praise: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory’.
May we today join our voices in praise to the Creator of all life, and may He bless each one of us this day.
