These creatures – see image below – are still very much at home with us, and clearly feel the monastery garden is part of their territory!
We ourselves would speak of a different ‘stability’: one rooted in our own community, and in the enclosure of the monastery, as St Benedict prescribes. In the time of lockdown, this has had an added intensity and has brought many graces, as well as its difficulties.
We pray for those who continue to experience loneliness and isolation, and may they know the loving care of our God. May God bless you this day.
