Today we commemorate St Camillus de Lellis, who in the sixteenth century founded an Order specifically for the care of the sick. Their emblem is a red cross – the original ‘Red Cross’. Today, they are involved in the care of those suffering with coronavirus in many countries of the world, and they deserve our prayers. They are no strangers to plagues and epidemics, for these form part of their history.

May they be strengthened in their work for Christ, and may St Camillus uphold them by his prayers, and pray for us also. May God bless you.
