Today, as we remember Our Lady, let us take into our souls the words spoken of her: ‘His mother kept all these things in her heart’.

The word used for ‘kept’ means, in translation from the Greek, ‘to watch thoroughly, to hold fast’. The implication is that the Mother of God pondered all that happened to and in her Son, that nothing escaped her at depth. As she understood, she was correspondingly deepened to understand more. And it was all safe with her as she guarded it interiorly.

May we learn from her, as we repeat our ‘Fiat’ with her – ‘Let it be unto me according to Thy Word’. May God bless you this day.
