Here is today’s New Testament reading, from Romans: ‘We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified’.

‘We know that in everything God works for good …’ These are consoling words, in these very difficult times. There is no situation in which God is not present, actively willing our good. It is worth taking a moment to reflect on the graces God has given us, in and amongst all the appearances to the contrary. There could be some surprises.

So today may we stay close to the One who has loved us ‘till the end’, and may He bless us abundantly.
