Today is also the optional commemoration of St Paulinus of York, together with Saints Mellitus, Lawrence, Justus and Honorius. These saints all belong together in the early Christianisation of our country. St Paulinus was the first Bishop of York, being sent with St Mellitus to England. St Paulinus was consecrated Bishop by St Justus, and St Honorius was consecrated by St Paulinus.
