Here is part of today’s Old Testament reading, from Isaiah: ‘Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go”’.
Further on in Isaiah, there are these words: ‘And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left’.
And again: ‘The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness; and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge’.
Both the tentative steps that we take, and our inner stability in these perilous times, are in the Lord’s hands; so we need fear nothing. May we learn to trust Him completely in everything, and may He bless you this day.
