‘And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose and went out to a lonely place, and there he prayed’. These words come from our Gospel reading for today.
Today, in our world, there are plenty of ‘lonely places’ where people are alone and sad, because of the pandemic. Many have no faith to see them through, or to help them to make sense of the whole experience. Let us pray today, that this very solitude may generate a search for ultimate meaning, which will lead to faith in Jesus Christ, who is the ‘yes’ upon all God’s promises. Here, there is hope.
May God bless you in your own journey, and be close to you this day.
