Today’s Old Testament reading is the healing of Naaman the Syrian from leprosy: ‘He went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean’.

There are many stories in the Gospels of people obeying what seems like a senseless command from Our Lord; yet they do it, and are healed, or catch their fish … May we too learn that trust and obedience which will take us right out of our ‘comfort zone’, and so enable us to see the mighty works of God, even in our own time.

May God bless you this day.
