From today’s Gospel reading, from St Luke: ‘When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace; but when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armour in which he trusted, and divides his spoil. He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters’.
This is a very strong statement of the opposition of good and evil, and one we need to hear in our own day. Especially in Lent, we are drawn into that battle. Let us take care that we remain with Our Lord, gathering with Him, and not scattering. May God bless you this day and keep you from all harm.
