Today’s picture has been sent in to us, and shows an empty beach in the early morning. It speaks so much of silence and stillness.
Today is also the Solemnity of Easter for the Orthodox Churches, who follow the Julian calendar. We greet them and say, ‘Christ is risen!’
In these days, let us seek to recover the spirit of silence, where the still small voice of the Lord is to be heard. It is more than an absence of speech, more than an absence of sound. It opens to us a space there the Risen Lord can be encountered, and where we can know and experience His love for us. May you know Him in the depths of your heart today, and may He bless you richly.
