The convert St Justin, a philosopher from Samaria, was martyred in the year 165, in Rome. His ‘Apologies’ and ‘Dialogue’ are well known.

Of the Eucharist, he said: ‘Not as common bread or common drink do we receive these … We have been taught that the food that has been Eucharistised by the word of prayer, that food which by assimilation nourishes our flesh and blood, is the flesh and blood of the incarnate Jesus’.

May we indeed by faith hold to this Truth, and may God bless you this day.
