‘When the days drew near for him to be received up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem’. These words constitute a major shift in the Gospel account. They follow on, almost immediately, from the story of the Transfiguration, where Jesus discusses His departure, His ‘Exodus’, which He was to accomplish at Jerusalem.

So, resolutely, He begins to make His way there. ‘I have set my face like a flint’, said the Suffering Servant Isaiah, and it is no less true of the Suffering Son. We are called to follow Him, to walk with Him. So we shall rise with Him, and attain life eternal.

May God bless you this day, in your personal walk with Him.
