Today is also the Vigil of Pentecost – when we prepare prayerfully for the coming of the Holy Spirit afresh upon us.

Here is a verse from J M Neale’s translation of a twelfth century Latin hymn: ‘Come, Thou holy Paraclete, And from Thy celestial seat / Send Thy light and brilliancy: Father of the poor, draw near; Giver of all gifts, be here; Come, the soul’s true radiancy’. You may like to pray these words as you open your heart to the Holy Spirit, the ‘true radiance’ of the soul.

May God bless you abundantly this Pentecost, and all whom you love.
