Here are some words of the Visitandine St Margaret Mary Alacoque for the Feast: ‘The Sacred Heart is the symbol of that boundless love which moved the Word to take flesh, to institute the Holy Eucharist, to take our sins upon Himself and, dying on the Cross, to offer Himself as a victim and sacrifice to the eternal Father’.

As we adore this Sacred Heart which is the fount and source of all goodness and blessing, we pray for all who today are distressed and wounded in heart, that the words of Jesus may resonate: ‘Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light’.

May God bless you on this glorious Feast and keep you close to Himself.
