Here is part of our New Testament reading, from Hebrews: ‘Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed’.

The verse refers back to Isaiah: ‘Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”’

In the fears – and the hopes – of our present day lives, may we trust these words, and reach out to Our Lord, who is already at our side to redeem, strengthen and heal. May God bless you this day.
