Today is also the Optional Memoria in Coventry, in our Archdiocese, of the Abbess St Osburga. She was buried in her monastery in the year 1018. The monastery grew into the city’s first Cathedral of St Mary, but sadly it was destroyed at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries.

St Osburga is among the Midlands’ chief saints. May she pray for us, and may God bless you this day.
