Here is part of our New Testament reading, from 2 Thessalonians: ‘Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word’.

Comfort, hope and grace: these are among the great gifts given to us by our Saviour, Christ, who has loved us ‘to the end’, and still does. In the strength of that Love, we pray to be established in ‘every good work and word’. ‘Comfort’ means both consolation and strength. May God’s love infuse our every action this day, and may God bless you.
