‘For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you. In overflowing wrath for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer’.

These words come from our Old Testament reading, from Isaiah. The great compassion of the Redeemer is always with us. At this time, we look forward to the defining event of that compassion, the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ – Emmanuel, God-with-us’.

May God bless you with abundant hope at this time, and grant that you may feel and know the compassion of the Redeemer this day.
