Today is also the Optional Memoria of the martyrs Perpetua and Felicitas. They were martyred in Carthage, North Africa, in the year 203. The account of their martyrdom was widely read in churches, and today we know their names from their inclusion in the Roman Canon of the Mass. Perpetua was of noble birth, Felicitas was a slave, but they met their death equally.

May God bless you today, and may you be inspired by their witness.
