We are now in the original Novena, that which falls between the Ascension and Pentecost. It is also the Optional Memoria of St Dunstan, Abbot of Glastonbury, Bishop of Worcester and Archbishop of Canterbury. His final words were believed to have been those of Psalm 111:4 and 5: ‘He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him’.
As we approach the Feast of Pentecost, let us dwell on these words of St Dunstan, making them our own; and may God bless you this day.
