From today’s Gospel, from St John: ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name. Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full’.

Our Lord points us to that trusting and humble confidence which we should have in all circumstances, even the most trying.  St Thérèse said: ‘We can never have too much confidence in the good God… As we hope in Him so shall we receive. I am certain that even if I had on my conscience every imaginable crime, I should lose nothing of my confidence; rather I would hurry, with a heart broken with sorrow, to throw myself into the Arms of my Jesus.

Let us ask today for the grace of this confidence; and may God bless you this day.
