Guardian angels are present throughout Sacred Scripture, in both Old and New Testaments. Our Lord Himself said: ‘See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven’.

St Jerome wrote of guardian angels as being in the ‘mind of the Church’. He said: ‘How great the dignity of the soul, since each one has from his birth an angel commissioned to guard it’.

Here is a prayer you may like to pray: ‘Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love
commits me here, ever this day, be at my side, to light and guard, rule and guide’.

May you know the solace and protection of your own guardian angel this day, and may God bless you abundantly.
