From the Lenten liturgy, drawn from Isaiah 58: ‘When you see the needy, turn not from him; but behold in him your own humanity: then shall your light break forth as the morning, and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard’.

The ‘needy’ are often those within our own households, or at least not far distant. May we turn to them, as to our Lord, whose Face we can see in their distress, and know His loving kindness and mercy. May God bless you this day.
