Today is also the Optional Memoria of St Frances of Rome, who is the patron saint of Benedictine Oblates.

A wife and mother, she said: ‘It is most laudable, in a married woman, to be devout but, she must never forget that she is a home-keeper. And sometimes, she must leave God at the altar to find Him in her household affairs’. She died in 1440.

Today, we pray for all those who follow the way of St Benedict in the stream of life in the world; may St Frances of Rome watch over them, and may God bless you in your own walk with Him today.
