From our Old Testament reading, from Ezekiel: ‘On the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing’.

This passage can be taken as a reference to the sacrament of Baptism, relevant because it would have been read to those entering upon their Christian journey at the Easter Vigil in ancient times. However, all of us who have been baptised can use this as a means to renew our own baptismal commitment to Christ, to follow Him come what may. And we will know the fruitfulness of this step; we have been promised.

May God bless you in your walk with Him today and may you know His peace.
