Here is part of our New Testament reading, from 2 Corinthians: ‘So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal’

The writer C. S. Lewis said in his book, ‘The Weight of Glory’: ‘When God is our Holy Father, sovereignty, holiness, omniscience, and immutability do not terrify us; they leave us full of awe and gratitude’. As we look to the things that are eternal, may we know that sense of awe and gratitude; and may God bless you this day.
