St Chad’s Cathedral was built between 1839 and 1841, from designs by Augustine Welby Pugin. There were later additions and some liturgical alterations, but substantially the Cathedral is as we see it today. It was the first new Catholic Cathedral since the Reformation.

It remains a place of prayer, enhanced by the grace and beauty of the architecture, which does not date in any way.

May St Chad pray for us, and may God bless you this day.
