St Margaret Clitherow, known as the ‘Pearl of York’ risked her life by harbouring priests in the time of the Reformation, when it was a capital offence to do so. She was put to death at the Toll Bridge over the river Ouse, by being suffocated by her own door being placed across her body, which was lying on a sharp rock.
All these three martyrs died for their convictions, for the Truth of the Catholic faith. May we also be inspired by them and follow fearlessly wherever Truth will lead us. May God bless you this day.
