This ‘O’ Antiphon, ‘O Key of David’, has at its root part of a prophecy from Isaiah: ‘And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. And I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place, and he will become a throne of honour to his father’s house’.

It is Jesus who is our security, who provides safety as well as the capacity to move out of ourselves into new territory. As Isaiah says elsewhere, ‘He will be the stability of your times …’, ‘the ‘peg in a sure place’. He is coming soon.

May your going in and coming out, and your stability, be rooted in Him, and may God bless you this day.
