‘A light to enlighten the Gentiles …’  So we sing in the Nunc Dimittis every evening at Compline; and it is a text which finds its true home in today’s Feast, which we know also as Candlemas. We ask that God will bless our little lights, lit from the one flame of the Love of God, and ask that this light of Christ will shine ever more brightly in our world.
