From our New Testament reading, from St Mark: ‘Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its saltness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another’.

St Theophylact, eleventh century Byzantine Archbishop of  of Ochrid explained: ‘He who binds himself to his neighbour by the tie of love, has salt, and in this way peace with his neighbour’.

These are challenging words to each one of us. May we heed them, binding ourselves to our neighbour by the tie of love; and may God bless you this day.
