From today’s Old Testament reading, from Ecclesiasticus: ‘How great is the mercy of the Lord, and his forgiveness for those who turn to him!’

As we approach Lent, it is good to be recalled to God’s mercy and forgiveness; the prerequisite is that we turn to Him, in trust and ‘full assurance of heart’. In this way, in purity of heart, we are able to reflect the love of God to others, knowing that we have received it ourselves.
