Today is also the Optional Memoria of St Dunstan. He belongs to the tenth century, and was successively Abbot of Glastonbury, Bishop of London, and Archbishop of Canterbury. He is valued for having restored monastic life in this country, and for his work in reforming the Church. He was also a musician, a skilled metalworker, and calligrapher, and advisor to kings.

May St Dunstan pray for us, in monastic life and in the wider church; and may God bless you this day.
