This house, Aston Hall, was for many years in the care of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and so it is appropriate that on this day we affirm that connection and express our deep thankfulness for all that the Archdiocese has brought to this house. We remember, too the strenuous labours of St Chad himself, who went around planting crosses at certain places where, later, churches were built. Most importantly, it is believed that the relics of St Chad were discovered here, and eventually taken to the newly built Cathedral of St Chad in Birmingham, where they are now enshrined above the high altar.

So on this day, we ask the prayers of St Chad, and may God bless you this day.
