Today is also the Optional Memoria of St Theodore of Canterbury. He was born in about the year 602, in Asia Minor. He was consecrated a Bishop in 668 and was then sent out from Rome to Britain. With Saints Adrian and Benedict Biscop, he reached Canterbury in 669. Theodore is venerated for having organised the English Church of his time.

May he pray for the English Church now, in the challenges which face her; and may God bless you this day.
