On this day, the dedication of the basilicas of Saints Peter and Paul in Rome is celebrated. The original churches were built in the fourth century by order of the Emperor Constantine over the traditional sites of their tombs. In this way, their lives and ministry are commemorated and held in honour.

May we, too, honour them, knowing that while they had their disagreements, they were reconciled and gave their lives as one in the service of the Gospel. May God bless you this day.
